Keene Manufacturer Caps 30th Anniversary with National “Best Managed” Award

Keene, NH – Last month, the Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI) formally recognized Electronic Imaging Materials, Inc. (EIM) with the 2016 Eugene Singer Best Managed Company award, edging out over 30 print & label competitors of its size in US & Canada. The award was presented at TLMI’s annual Converter Meeting in St. Pete Beach, FL.

TLMI is a premier trade association for the label & packaging printing industry, and each year the association recognizes four label converters with one its highest honors. The four awards given are based on company size, and EIM became eligible in the “mid-range” bracket after two previous years of participation in the TLMI Management Ratio Study. The study awards excellence from an objective set of growth & profitability metrics, such as annual gross sales increase & inventory turnover.

This achievement comes just in time to celebrate EIM’s 30th anniversary of its incorporation this May. Thirty years ago Paul & Sue Henkel decided to enter the manufacturing world with durable label products for high-performance applications. In 2007, their son Alex Henkel and his wife Heather Bell purchased the Keene company.

Alex and Heather continue to build a product that is unique and customized to each customer’s needs while providing them personalized service. “We’ve always had a focus on building sustainable growth.” Alex notes, “Every day we make business decisions to continually build a strong foundation. We have a dedicated team and we are honored to have their work recognized with this award.”

As of 2017, EIM has shipped to over 90 countries around the globe. “We’re in this for the long term,” Alex says, “Labels that Last not just describes our product, but also represents our longstanding relationships with customers, vendors, and employees – it’s what we do.”
