Chemical Distributors Meet for 2023 ChemEdge Trade Show and Conference

Today, National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) ChemEdge Trade Show and Conference, the nation’s leading chemical distribution operations and management conference, kicks off in The Woodlands, Texas, featuring a record-breaking 450 registrations – the highest ever. The three-day conference provides a forum for businesses to learn about the latest products and services, to network with fellow distributors and supply chain partners, and to attend informative sessions from key industry leaders.

ChemEdge represents a unique opportunity for chemical distributors to discuss best practices for the ongoing challenges they face, which include supply chain disruptions, regulatory concerns, and record-level fraud. In addition, with the recent release of Responsible Distribution 2023, ChemEdge provides a venue for distributors, manufacturers, warehouses, and service support companies to get the most up-to-date information available on the updated Responsible Distribution codes.

This year, ChemEdge will provide 15 topical sessions, offering a variety of educational training and informational panels, giving attendees the chance to interact and learn from their peers, as well as industry experts. ChemEdge will also feature over 50 hand-picked exhibitors who will be available to attendees on the trade show floor, providing a range of operational goods and services designed for chemical distributors’ business needs.

During the conference, NACD President and CEO Eric R. Byer will host a session with NACD Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Jennifer Gibson to provide an update on the current and upcoming legislative and regulatory issues facing the industry. Additionally, NACD is thrilled to collaborate with Women in Chemicals to co-host Women’s Development Day, a comprehensive and complimentary program tailored to empower and support women in the chemical industry. This event aims to provide professional and personal development opportunities, fostering growth and success for all participants.

Other key sessions at the conference include:

  • Every Conversation Counts – The 5 Habits of Human Connection That Build ExtraordinaryAs businesses continue to navigate the post-pandemic workplace, Human Connection Speaker Riaz Meghji will provide best practices for business leaders to develop and maintain relationships in an age of hybrid work, polarization, and disconnection.
  • PFAS Compliance: PFAS, or per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances, have rapidly emerged as a risk affecting the entire chemical industry. In this ever-important session, Dave McMillan from Axon Underwriting and Pat Dixon and Mark Seim from Perimeter Solutions will explain the broad exposures NACD members may face soon, and how to address PFAS exposure from Fire Suppression Systems.
  • Closing General Session – Fraud in the Chemical Sector: In this year’s closing session, Lisa Parnpichate and Sara Cunning from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will provide guidance, insight, and tools to deal with fraud that has plagued the chemical sector for the past three years.
