Troy Snader Leads Discussion on Green Packaging Initiatives at Petfood Forum 2022

Troy Snader, Senior Vice President of Business Development for ProMach’s Secondary Packaging Group, will present a Tech Talk on the state of green initiatives for petfood packaging at 10:45 a.m. May 4, at Petfood Forum, at the Kansas City Convention Center, Kansas City, Missouri.

While there are numerous green or holistic choices when it comes to petfood, there is a substantial push underway to extend green attributes to petfood packaging as well. This is the basis of Snader’s Tech Talk presentation: Compostable/Recyclable Materials and Machinery Compatibility – Choices and Options.

The discussion Snader will lead focuses on compostable materials, primarily PE (polyethylene), and PET (polyethylene terephthalate), and sealing methods for handling these materials. The discussion includes details on film path and pulling, stretching and registration considerations, gas flushing and hermiticity, as well as sealing and cooling methods for presentable petfood packaging.
