The Ultimate Destination! Matrix Brings its Full Complement of Flexible Packaging Machines to PACK EXPO 2024
From vertical form fill seal, sachets and stickpacks, to pre-made pouch machines, Matrix in booth S-3620 has it all – and is a must-see destination at
When it comes to flexible packaging solutions at PACK EXPO 2024, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more impressive lineup than Matrix Packaging Machinery!
Matrix is bringing its full complement of flexible packaging technologies, including the MVC-250 continuous box-motion bagger, to booth S-3620 at PACK EXPO 2024, Nov. 3-6, at McCormick Place in Chicago.
Matrix (https://www.matrixpm.com/), a ProMach brand, is a leader in VFFS packaging equipment producing a variety of flexible bag styles, including pillow, gusseted, flat bottom, and modified doy. Matrix is also the North American master distributor for Pacraft and its rotary pre-made pouch solutions, as well as INVpack and its sachet and stickpack machine solutions. Matrix will be showing attendees live demonstrations of its flexible packaging solutions and illustrating how its machinery seamlessly integrates with other ProMach equipment for complete, turnkey packaging lines.
MVC-250 (newest version of the MVC family)
Taking the leading role in Chicago is the MVC-250, a one-of-a-kind continuous box-motion bagger with the latest high performance servo system for unprecedented precision motion control. The MVC-250 is a low-profile machine (62” height) that is designed to fit into tight spaces or areas with low ceilings. However, don’t let its compact design fool you – the MVC-250 is a high-performance machine capable of reaching speeds up to 200 cycles per minute.
A hallmark of Matrix’s MVC Series is that the machines use a continuous-motion, high-speed jaw system where the film never stops. The jaw system seals and cuts the film and allows adjustable seal times for the cross seals to properly seal many types of films. This feature of the MVC Series allows users to achieve higher fill rates, making the MVC one of Matrix’s most advanced series of VFFS machines.
At the show, the MVC-250 will be integrated with a Yamato (https://www.yamatoamericas.com/) scale packaging bags of candy using CL&D (https://www.cldgraphics.com/) film and an ID Technologies (https://www.idtechnology.com/) printer (both CL&D and ID Technologies are ProMach brands).
MVC-300 / MVC-300L
Other MVC Series machines in action at the show include two MVC-300 VFFS machines. The bigger brother to the MVC-250, the 300 Series is designed to run a variety of films at faster speeds and with better accuracy. The MVC-300 features enhanced remote connectivity for service, updates, and diagnostic capabilities without danger of facility firewall compromise. As well as its Autoset feature which reduces significantly change over time. At the show, one machine will be paired with a Spee-Dee (https://www.spee-dee.com/) cup filler packaging hard candies using CL&D film, and the other will be demonstrating its capabilities running compostable films and showcasing Watttron (https://watttron.de/) technologies. Finally, if it’s liquid pouches you need, Matrix’s MVC-300L is the answer. This hygienic stainless steel machine is designed to fill liquid pouches with zero headspace. All four MVC Series machines will be operating in Chicago.
MVI-280
Also appearing at PACK EXPO 2024 is Matrix’s MVI-280, an economical VFFS machine. This highly capable machine can process bags with a width from 2-11 inches, length from 2-15 inches and maximum roll size of 14 inches in diameter, making it ideal for a wide variety of foods, including snacks confections, coffee, food service, and other products. Users can configure up to 12 outputs for quick and easy changeover, while its stainless-steel frame allows food-grade conditions and easy cleaning. Automatic safety features, film tracking, multi-language displays, and touch screens make this machine adaptable to your operation.
At the show, the MVI-280 display includes a Yamato scale and a mezzanine with stairway. It will be packaging snack packs with CL&D film.
MVI-460S
The MVI-460S is a high-performance, totally configurable VFFS solution for large bags that is ideal for customers who require more hygienic attributes in their packaging machine. The machine offers an 18” bag width and up to 20” in length, features a stainless steel, sanitary design with all major components, including fasteners, bearings, shafts, and motors suitable for washdown environments. At the show, attendees can see the machine producing a traditional pillow bag.
INVpack MVA4 EVO / SP6
Matrix will be demonstrating sachet and stickpack machines from INVpack at the show as well. The first is the MVA4 EVO sachet form fill seal machine that is designed for small to medium production runs that require high-quality sealings for liquids, powders, granulates, and pasty products. Output ranges from 70 sachets per minute for a single-lane operation, and up to 350 per minute with five lanes.
The second is the SP6 stickpack machine from INVpack. Designed for medium to high production runs, the SP6 is ideal for liquids, pasties, granulated, powders, and solids. A six-lane machine offers 420 stickpacks per minute, and up to 1,050 per minute with 15 lanes.
Pacraft (formerly known as Toyo Jidoki)
The Pacraft TT-8D-N pre-made pouch filler/sealer is engineered for a wide variety of packaging applications. Its pouch formats and product types include flat, stand-up, retort, and press-to-close pouch styles. It can seal up to 55 pouches per minute; pouch sizes range from 4.72” to 10.23” (120 – 260mm), lengths from 5.11” to 15.74” (130 – 400mm). At the show, Matrix will be demonstrating the machine in a small footprint with a Yamato scale, mezzanine, and Sealscope Technologies (https://www.engilico.com/seal-inspection-sealscope/ N-5733) in-line solution for 100 percent seal inspection and monitoring of your sealing process. Together, this solution will be running traditional style sustainable pouches with zipper and a soft-touch quad-style pouch on films from CL&D.
Parts and Service Kiosk
Matrix knows the importance of a robust parts and service program. At the show Matrix will have a kiosk devoted solely to parts and service. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about Matrix’s parts and service program and how it can benefit you for the life of your machine.
Matrix throughout PACK EXPO
Two other show exhibitors will be demonstrating their capabilities while integrated with Matrix machinery. Sealstrip (https://sealstrip.com/N-5530), will be packaging candy in pillow pouches from a Matrix MVI-280 and Spee-Dee cup filler. Engilico (https://www.engilico.com/ N-5733), a manufacturer of innovative seal inspection technologies, will be running a VFFS as part of its capability’s demonstration.
Plan to visit booth S-3620 at PACK EXPO 2024 to see all these flexible packaging solutions from Matrix, INVpack, and Pacraft in action, and learn how they can help you increase productivity and meet your sustainability goals.
