For 20-years, Performance Packaging of Nevada, (PPLV) has been supplying a very wide-range of packaging materials specializing in laminate flexible films such as roll stock, Cold-Seal films, Retort and De-metalized films as well as bags and Pre-Made Pouches featuring zippers, sliders or with spouts & caps. Over the past 12-months, PPLV has significantly expanded services and capabilities through acquisitions to support their customers’ growth, including adding seasoned and experienced team members who bring well over 100-years of combined industry, market and production knowledge and expertise in packaging, hot fill, retort and aseptic processing, product formulation and machinery, positioning PPLV as a very unique solutions provider.

PPLV acquired joint-ownership of West-Pack Industries, a highly experienced co-packing operation in Nevada that provides contract filling for the dry-foods industry. The operation specializes in organic foods, blending and filling powders, crystals, granules, grains and other snack-type foods filling into both flexible and rigid packaging formats. West-Pack provides additional services such as ‘packaging design’ as well as ‘pack-out services’ to support ‘Retail-Ready’ projects. With a passion for the business and a constant eye on quality, this SQF level II plant has quickly made an impact with PPLV customers as they experienced the benefits first-hand, seeing the seamless support and coordination; a true ‘single-source solution’.

Florida-based Daytona Flexibles, was 100% acquired by PPLV and is scheduled to re-open in the late fall of 2015 under the name of Blue Kangaroo, ‘the original pouch filler’. The facility has undergone numerous upgrades in software and systems as well as installation of additional filling lines to provide a wider assortment of flexible packaging. Processing includes both hot-filling and retort processing in addition to filling of alcoholic products. Flexible packaging options include the popular ‘Stand-Up’ pouches with caps featuring the SipP Cap, the safest anti-choke cap on the market. Various formats for non-spouted pouches include tubes, sachets, flat pouches, pillow pouches, side-gusset and stand-up pouches. Blue Kangaroo will cater to the entrepreneurial spirit, providing ‘lower runs’ for new products as well as home-base for all Research and Development activities.

Lastly, the Performance Machinery Corporation (PMC) was formed to consolidate many years of equipment sales and service, and to support to both West-Pack and Blue Kangaroo facilities, that will also provide a showcase for customers to see some of the equipment ‘in action’. PMC provides both dry-food & liquid-food filling machines and supporting equipment in both ‘stock’ as well as ‘customized’ solutions to meet customer needs as all are built to strict PMC standards, utilizes the best globally available parts from suppliers in the USA, Europe and Asia to provide safe, durable, reliable and cost-effective solutions.
