Matrix and Pacraft to be Part of an Operating Pet Treat Production Line at Process Expo 2023

The production line gives attendees an up-close look at the latest in processing and packaging machinery, and demonstrates how an integrated line can work for you.

The Pacraft TT-8D-N pre-made pouch machine is playing a starring role in a fully integrated line producing and packaging pet treats at Process Expo, October 23-25, at McCormick Place in Chicago.

Pacraft, a leading supplier of pre-made pouch-filling and packaging equipment, is distributed in North America by Matrix, a premier manufacturer of vertical form fill seal (VFFS) machines operating widely throughout the food industry.

Pet treat processing is one of three live production lines this year at Process Expo. The goal of this line is to showcase the latest technological advancements in pet food processing and packaging. This year, the pet treat production line includes an AI (artificial intelligence) component that will help petfood and food manufacturers improve efficiencies in the areas of monitoring and predictive maintenance.

The role of bagging these pet treats falls on the Pacraft TT-8D-N pre-made pouch machine. All total, 11 leading OEM suppliers covering all aspects of pet treat processing and packaging are part of this integrated line.

Three times daily at the show, a hostess will guide attendees through each step of the pet treat production line; each OEM supplier will be on hand to discuss their machinery technology and how it can best be incorporated into their processing or packaging lines.

The Pacraft TT-8D-N pre-made pouch machine is designed for a wide variety of packaging applications. Its pouch formats and product types include flat, stand-up, retort, and press-to-close pouch styles. It can open, fill, and seal up to 55 pouches per minute; pouch sizes range from 4.72” to 10.23” (120 – 260mm), lengths from 5.11” to 15.74” (130 – 400mm). On the pet treat production line, the TT-8D-N will be operating at about 26 bags per minute.
