Markus Rustler From Theegarten-Pactec New Interpack 2023 President

At its recent constituent meeting, the advisory committee of interpack 2023 has elected Markus Rustler, President and CEO of Theegarten-Pactec GmbH & Co. KG, as President and thus Chairman of the committee. Rustler was already Vice President of the last interpack, which could not take place due to the pandemic. Christian Traumann, Managing Director and Group CFO at MULTIVAC Sepp Haggenmülller SE & Co., KG and Roland Strassburger, CEO of SCHÜTZ GmbH & Co. KGaA, have been elected as the Vice Presidents of the upcoming interpack. The election of all candidates was unanimous.

Markus Rustler, who is also Deputy Chairman of the Packaging Machinery Department  of the VDMA (Mechanical Engineering Industry Association), is following in his father’s footsteps. Erhard Rustler was also president of interpack in 2008 and 2011. “I am very pleased to have been entrusted with the office of interpack President. The upcoming edition of the trade show will be a very special one. After all, companies in the international packaging and related process industries had to miss the last edition of their most important trade show due to the pandemic and now they can’t wait to meet their customers live and in person and generate new leads,” commented Markus Rustler.

In addition, the major themes of interpack are foreshadowing future developments  – first and foremost the complex of sustainability. “The packaging industry is under particular public scrutiny when it comes to the issue of sustainability, but it also has effective tools at its disposal for making a significant contribution to improving the situation such as circular economy, steadily increasing resource efficiency and the intelligent use of materials,” stated Vice President Roland Strassburger, who is also President of the German Association for Plastics, Packaging and Films (IK).

The first meeting of the advisory committee marks the start of the strategic alignment phase and concrete content preparation for the upcoming interpack, to take place from May 4 – 10, 2023, at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany. The supplier trade show  “components – special trade fair by interpack” will again be held concurrently with interpack at a central location at the exhibition center.

Exhibitor registration for both trade shows is still possible at www.interpack.com and www.packaging-components.com.  However, due to the re-booking procedure for companies who had registered for the cancelled previous event, the available booth space for 2023 is already almost fully booked.
