Berlin Packaging Supports Collaboration between Non-Profit Ape Sanctuary and Miami Brewery

Berlin Packaging is honored to support an incredible, unique collaboration between Florida-based Center for the Great Apes and Tripping Animals Brewing with a donation of goods.

Located in Wauchula, Florida, the Center for Great Apes is a non-profit sanctuary for orangutans and chimpanzees, currently celebrating its 30th year of rescuing apes in need of lifetime care. To commemorate the anniversary, the Center has teamed up with Miami-based Tripping Animals Brewing as they release three custom brews featuring label artwork created by resident apes at the sanctuary. The beers will be released in October and November of 2023, and Berlin Packaging is donating cans to cover the initial launch of the three new brews.

The custom beers’ one-of-a-kind labels showcase paintings created by great apes living at the sanctuary, with each beer bearing the name of its ape artist. The featured artists include chimpanzee Bubbles, once famously kept as a pet by Michael Jackson; chimpanzee Jacob, who appeared in commercials and movies, including “Planet of the Apes”; and orangutan Keagan, also rescued from the entertainment industry. In addition to being served at 30th anniversary-related events around Miami, the custom brews will be available for retail purchase in more than 20 states nationwide.

“Once you learn about the incredible work being done by the Center for Great Apes, it’s impossible not to want to find a way to contribute,” said Darrin Dingman, Regional VP of Sales – Southeast at Berlin Packaging. “The team at Tripping Animals, the Center, and everyone involved in this anniversary project have been nothing short of inspiring. Donating the cans was a no-brainer, and we’re thrilled to play our part.”
