Roland DGA Announces New VersaWorks 6 RIP Software to Power-Up User Efficiency and Performance

IRVINE, CA |Roland DGA Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers, 3D milling machines, and other innovative digital devices, has announced the release of new Roland VersaWorks® 6 RIP and print management software for its inkjet printers and printer/cutters.

Roland VersaWorks® includes a broad range of features to streamline the entire printing process by generating high-quality print data that optimize print functionality, ink output, and media use. The new VersaWorks 6 RIP software builds upon the outstanding core-functionality and user-friendliness of Roland’s previous RIP, incorporating a new HARLEQUIN RIP dual-core engine and other improvements that increase the overall performance and ease of use.

VersaWorks 6 provides 64-bit native support to maximize performance from the latest 64-bit operating systems and improve the processing of complex data, such as vector images and multiple layered files. It also provides support for processing PDF files natively to quickly render transparencies, drop shadows and other special effects the way they are intended to look in the design. The new VersaWorks 6 RIP also boasts a redesigned user interface that’s consistent with the latest design trends, featuring more intuitive icons and “drag and drop” tools for an enhanced user experience.

A new, easy-to-use color matching function in VersaWorks 6 ensures consistent color between multiple printers of the same model. In addition, users can print and scan values from a printer and transfer the color values to another printer of the same model to ensure accurate color output. In addition, users now have up to five separate queues, with unlimited saved settings available for each queue, to suit specific customer requirements and media. This feature also makes it possible to immediately reload past job settings for recurring jobs, enhancing both workflow and convenience.

“This updated software incorporates several enhancements that make our inkjets even more simple to operate, while also optimizing the accuracy, efficiency and reliability of the entire digital printing process,” said Brian Brooks, Roland DGA’s Manager of Product Management.

VersaWorks 6 will be bundled with the following Roland inkjet printer and printer/cutter models listed below beginning in November 2018.  The new software can also be downloaded instantly at the Roland DGA website (www.rolanddga.com/VersaWorks6) as a free upgrade for existing users of these inkjets.
