Closing Options for Sealing Plastic, Laminate, and Metal Tubes
Professional, clean and secure sealing process offers appealing shelf presence
ProSys Fill, LLC, designer and manufacturer of manual, semiautomatic, and fully automated filling equipment, announces a wide variety of squeeze tube closing options for sealing plastic, laminate, and metal tubes. Available options for plastic and laminate squeeze tube seals include curved seals, rounded corners, slot/hole punch for hanging tubes on store shelves, as well as custom seals for unique tube presentations that are proprietary to the customer brand or logo. Smooth, standard or custom textured seal patterns are offered. Metal tube closure options include single fold, double fold, saddle fold, or triple fold, with smooth or wave crimp options. All tube closures can include up to a 12-digit code, with an option for a double sided code.
ProSys offers three sealing methods to meet specific customer needs. Hot hair tube sealing, the fastest available method, works well with all plastic and laminate tubes. With this method, the inside seal area of the tube is heated by hot air and then transferred to the closing station where the tube is pressed together and chilled.
High frequency sealing uses energy to heat the aluminum and plastic layers of the tube, and the tube is then clamped and cooled when it reaches the desired temperature. Most appropriate for products to be placed in a carton, high frequency tube sealing is slower and is not used for polyethylene tubes.
Also available is ultrasonic tube sealing, in which the tube’s inside seal area is heated by high frequency friction produced by an ultrasonic horn. The tube is then clamped against the anvil and cooled to form the tube seal. This option is also slower and best for tubes to be placed in cartons.
