STO Responsible Launches Product Line of Eco-Conscious, Safe and Compliant Marijuana Product Packaging

BOULDER, CO After investing several years in research and development to design a reasonably priced, evidence-based solution, STO Responsible has finally released its line of sustainable packaging for the cannabis industry. STO Responsible’s founders built their business in order to solve the packaging problems that have plagued marijuana product producers, while also offering cannabis companies and their patrons a reliable, safe choice for packaging that won’t clog the landfill.

“We kept hearing from cannabis companies that packaging was their biggest problem,” said Sandra Elkind, oo-founder and chief creative officer of STO Responsible. “Operators often need packaging that meets three key criteria: safety, sustainability and affordability. We designed our packaging so that they no longer have to choose.”

The STO product line is made with a special oxygen-driven additive in the material that creates accelerated degradation, allowing the packaging to degrade safely without harming the environment. The containers are reusable and the company encourages customers to repurpose them.

STO Responsible’s packaging is sustainable, child-resistant and pet-resistant, adhering to the cannabis industry’s strict compliance standards. STO Responsible containers are also designed with accessibility in mind: their rectangular shape, depth and wide mouths allow for easy access. The stackable units provide better branding and display options for companies that also must adhere to state-mandated labeling regulations.

STO Responsible’s packaging is designed to meet the needs of brands as well as environmentalists.  The containers come with exterior sleeve and sticker dieline templates that are provided to STO customers at no additional charge. Businesses can take these dielines to whichever printhouse their company uses to design and print their own custom eye-catching graphics for sleeves and stick-on labels. The dielines give brands the freedom to showcase their logos and personal messaging however they choose, along with instructions, ingredients, product education and safety warnings.

“We aimed to create packaging that was sustainable, but also allowed brands to stand out on the shelf with unique design and plenty of real estate for branding,” said Nicole Elkind, Co-Founder & CEO. “Cannabis retailers and manufacturers shouldn’t have to choose between what’s good for the Earth and what’s good for their business.”

STO Responsible’s variety of sizes and shapes are available for packaging edibles, flower, joints, infused topicals and more. The container design is certified by the ASTM / U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (16 CFR, part 1700) International Standard (ISO 8317), made with food-grade material, 100 percent recyclable and manufactured in the USA.

STO Responsible is a Boulder-based sustainable cannabis packaging solutions company. The Company was born from the desire to solve the problem of single-use plastic waste in the cannabis industry by creating environmentally sound packaging that puts consumer safety and regulatory compliance on par with maintaining product freshness and improving manufacturing and distribution logistics. STO Responsible strives to be a leader in forward-thinking package design for cannabis products, and educating  consumers, manufacturers and retailers about environmental stewardship in the cannabis industry. STO Responsible packaging is designed and made in the USA.
