Pretium Packaging Acquires Starplex Scientific

Pretium Packaging, has acquired Starplex Scientific Inc., from Apotex Corp. The Starplex acquisition reportedly supports Pretium’s growth objectives in the medical and consumer healthcare market sectors.

Starplex Scientific has product lines including leak-resistant sterilized containers, biological sampling swabs and pharmaceutical grade containers and closures. Its products serve the clinical, laboratory and drug manufacturing markets in the U.S. and Canada.

Products are produced from ISO13485-certified operations in Toronto and Cleveland, Tennessee, with a combined 200,000–plus square feet of manufacturing space.

In keeping with Pretium’s ongoing acquisition philosophy, existing employees and the Starplex Scientific brand will be retained.
