New Tamper-Evident Bander Automatically Applies Shrinkbands to Shoulderless Bottles

Packaging machinery manufacturer Deitz Co., has introduced the Pharmafill(TM) Shoulderless Bottle Bander (SBB). Developed to enable pharmaceutical, nutrition, and other packagers to apply tamper-evident shrinkbands to bottles with no lip or shoulder, the new SBB eliminates the need to use full body sleeve labels when only partial bottle coverage is desired.

The shrinkbanding system reportedly integrates the company’s NB1 neck banding machine with its latest Bottomless Conveyor to grip the bottle and hold it in place as the band is applied at the desired height without slipping to the bottle bottom. A built-in heat gun shrinks the band just enough to ensure it remains in the proper place as it moves downstream to the heat shrink tunnel for sealing.

Ideal for contract packagers and manufacturers, the Shoulderless Bottle Bander may be quickly adjusted to accommodate a wide range of bottle heights and diameters and/or to switch from applying shrinkbands to full sleeve labels and back.

The novel configuration works with all heat-shrinkable banding materials from 25 to 123 millimeters in width applied over caps ranging from 14 to 76 millimeters in diameter and achieves speeds up to 100 bottles per minute.

The no shoulder bottle bander is manufactured at the company’s Wall, New Jersey headquarters and comes mounted on casters and levelers for easy installation. A full warranty is included.
