Powell Engineering, Inc. manufactures roll-lifting shaftless unwinds for the paper, film, and foil converting industries. The unwind stands are custom-built for each customer's needs and placed with new equipment and retrofit applications. Our unwinds are designed to increase production by providing speedy roll changes and also to increase worker safety. The unwind stands utilize Powell Engineering, Inc.'s exclusive eccentric pivot ™ floor pickup design. Stands range from a cantilevered design for small rolls up to the model EP for larger rolls that require a mill roll stand. Our shaftless unwind machines are sometimes referred to as a paper unwinder, reel stand, or shaftless backstand.
